Yes, lots of challenges to the homesteady lifestyle, but so many rewards! Arriving home from a long day in town the other day, when I got out of the car it was utterly quiet. I heard not one sound…bliss!
This post was full of twists and turns! I hope the dogs didn't actually get at you! As far as Irish films, one of my favorite SHOWS in the last few years was "Normal People".
Thank you for your concern, Carrie! Maybe the dogs thought they were just playing, but it didn’t feel like it when they got their jaws around one of my legs and arms. I’m just glad it was a chilly day so I had on lots of layers!
I had definite mixed feelings about the novel “Normal People,” but I still *really* wanted to see the show, especially with all the stellar reviews. Unfortunately, no broadband/streaming capability here in the boonies!
I love this post, Susan! As a seasoned procrastinator from childhood, I can relate to every bit of your day. Our society puts way too much emphasis on productivity, and sometimes the distractions are the most meaningful anyway-- like cleaning up the litter from your neighbor's property.
I enjoy Irish movies, my all-time favorites being The Secret of Roan Inish and Waking Ned Devine, but I don't plan to watch Banshees of Inisherin after being warned about the level of darkness by several people now.
Those are two of my favorites too! When it comes to “Banshees,” there are too many scenes I wish I could unsee. Good decision for you to give it a pass.
Lots of good information and shows the trails of the homestead life.
